ORDINANCE N0. 38
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE NAMING OF THE PUBLIC STREETS,
HIGHWAYS AND ROADS IN THE CITY OF HILO, COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, there has been passed and adopted AN ORDINANCE
for the Numbering of Houses and Naming of the Streets in the
City Limits of Hilo, County of Hawaii, therefore,
; Section 1. Be it ordained by the Board of Supervisors
in and for the County of Hawaii, that the names of the
following streets are hereby dedicated and ordained as

-~ Front Street shall hereafter be known as Kamehameha Street.
New concrete road to Kuhio Wharf from Front Street shall
be known as Kalanianaole Street.
Bridge Street shall be known as Keawe Street.
Church Street shall be known as Haili Street.
Pitman Street shall be known as Kinoole Street.
Pleasant Street shall be known as Ululani Street.
Reed Street shall be known as Kaiulani Street.
Richardson Street shall be known as Mamo Street.
Volcano Street shall be known as Kilauea Street.
School Street shall be known as Kapiolani Street.
Ruth Street shall be known as Keliikolani Street.
Mud Lane Street shall be known as Piopio Street.
Piopio Street shall be known as Pauahi Street.
Whart Street shall be known as Mamane Street.
Cocoanut Island Street shall be known as Kainehe Street.
Kuhio Street shall be known as Kekaulike Street.
Irwin Street shall be known as Kanoa Street.
Scott Street shall be known as Kauila Street.

Kennedy Street shall be known as Iliahi Street.
King Street shall be known as Kalakaua Street.
Dog Lane shall be known as Kou LdnC.
Section 2. It shall be the duty of the County Engineer
to have the proper names of the streets put up on all
crossings as provided for by ordinance.
Section 3. Any new street that shall hereafter be
opened for public use shall first have the name or names
submitted to the Board of Supervisors for approval before
such name shall be declared the name of such street.
