AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 91 (b) OF ORDINANCE N0. l5
OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, 1960,
RELATING TO THE REGULATION OF TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC
STREETS AND HIGHWAYS OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS IN AND FOR THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 91 (b) of Ordinance No. 25 of
the Revised Ordinances of the County of Hawaii, 1960, is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"(b) No motor vehicle operated on a public highway
shall have a wheel base longer than two hundred sixty two
(L62) inches; and no bed or body of any motor or power
vehicle shall extend or overhang in the rear from the rear
axle of such vehicle, more than a distance equal to fifty-
five (55) per cent of the length. The point of measurement
in determining said fifty-five (55) per cent of the length
of the wheel base extension in the rear shall start at the
center line of the rear axle housing; for the purpose of
this section, axles placed in the same transverse plane
which are closer than forty-two (42) inches shall be considered
as one axle; provided, however, that the restriction regarding
length of the bed or body of any motor vehicle shall not
apply to any such vehicle equipped with a dual rear axle."
SECTION L. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
