AN ORDINANCE AMEI~IDSNG SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 7, OF TtiE
REVISED ORDINANCES G'F THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 19b0, RELATING
TO THE DETERMINATION OF PASSENGER CARRYING CAPACITY OF
MOTOR VEHICLE CCNI"!KiN CARRIERS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD CF SUPERVISORS IN AND FOR THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII.
SECTION 1, Section 1 (b) and Section 1 (c) of
Ordinance No, 7, of the Revised Ordinances of the County
of ttawaii 1966, are hereby amended to read respectively
as follows:
"b, If the length of any seating space is
more than twenty-two (22) inches but not more
than thirty-eight (33) inches, the seating
capacity is two passengers; provided, However,
that for any motor vehicle common carrier
transporting children to and from school or
during school excursions and outings under any
school bus transportation contract with the
County of Hawaii, if the length of any seating
space is more than thirty-eight (3B) inches but
less than forty (40) inches, the seating capacity
is three passengers below nineteen (19) years
of age,
"c. Each additional fifteen (15) inches
shall be considered as seating space i:or an
additional passenger,"
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval,
