ORDINANCE N0. 106
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 10 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1960, RELATING TO THE
CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT OF SCHOOL BUSSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII:
That Ordinance No. 10 of the Revised Ordinances of the
County of Hawaii 1960 is hereby amended in the following
.respects;
SECTION 1. Paragraph (b) of Section 2 is hereby amended
to read as follows;
"(b) Gasoline tanks shall be located entirely
outside that part of the school bus utilized for
carrying passengers and shall be separated from the
remainder of the bus by fireproof material. Each
gasoline tank shall be equipped with an inlet for
filling on the exterior of the bus.
"This provision shall not apply to diesel powered
busses."
SEC"PION ~. Paragraph (o) of Section 2 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"(o) All side openings between the driverts
seat and the rear shall be screened with metal screen
of not more than 1-3~1}" mesh and not less than No. 16
gauge, all to the satisfaction of the police department
of the County of Hawaii.
"The provisions of this paragraph shall not
apply to school busses equipped with safety glass

windows which are permanently adjusted to permit
not more than 50 per cent of the top portion of
said side openings from being opened."
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
