ORDINANCE NO. 19B
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING GRDINANCE NO. 19 OF THE REVSSED ORDINANCES
OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1960, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO 'THE PLANNING
AND TRAFFIC COMMISSION.
BE iT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION L. Ordinance No. 19 of the Revised Ordinances of
the County of Hawaii 1960, as amended, is hereby further amended
by changing the title to read as follows:
"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A PLANNING AND TRAFFIC COMMISSION
OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII."
SECTION 2. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 19 of the Revised
Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1960 is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Section 2. /Hppointment; term of office. The Planning
and Traffic Commission of the County of Hawaii shall consist of
fifteen (15) members, with the Chairman and Executive Ufficer
of the Board of Supervisors, the County Attorney, the Chief of
Police, the Fire Chief and a representative from the Hawaii
County Department of Public Works as advisors; the fifteen (15)
citizen members to be appointed by the Chairman and ::xecutive
Officer of the Board, with the approval of the Board of Supervisors,
shall hold office for three (3) years or until their successors
are appointed and qualified; provided, however, that of the first
members appointed hereunder, five (5) shall be appointed for a
term expiring January 1, 1947, five (5) members for a term expiring
January 1, 1948, and five (5) members for a term expiring
January 1, 1949."
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
