ORDINANCE N0. 294
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 183, THE INTERIM TONING
ORDINANCE, RELATING TO PROPERTY USES FOR ONE-FAMILY DWELLINGS.
BE I'P ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII:
SECTION 1, Subsection 1 of Section 4 of Ordinance No. 183
is hereby amended to read as follows;
"l. One-family dwellings; provided that no such
dwelling shall be constructed on any lot having
an area of less than one (1) acre; and, that
wherever practicable, the minimum width of such
lots shall be not less than 60 feet; provided,
further, that this area requirement shall not
apply to the building of a single family dwelling.
on a lot less than one (1) acre in area where the
boundaries of such lot were established prior to
the effective date of this ordinance; provided,
also, that if more than one such dwelling is to
be constructed on any lot, there must be at least
one (1) acre for each dwelling; and that wherever
practicable, the minimum width for such lots shall
be not less than sixty (60) feet. There may be
the usual necessary accessory buildings in
connection with any such dwelling, including a
private garage of such size as may be necessary
for the occupants of the dwelling as well as
buildings used for servants quarters,"
SECTION 2, 't'his Ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 183, THE INTERIM ZONING
ORDINANCE, RELATING TO PROPERTY USES FOR ONE-FAMILY DWELLINGS.
This Bill changes the lot size requirement from
7500 square feet to one (1) acre.
