ORDINANCE N0. 308
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 25 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES
OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1960, AS AMENDED, PERTAINING TO THE
REGULATION OF TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS AND HIGHWAYS OF
THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS IN AND FOR THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Subsection 6, subparagraph f, Section 69,
paragraph b, is hereby amended by deleting in its entirety the
second sentence. Said subsection shall read as follows;
"f. Saddle Road, between the Hilo Country Club Road
junction and the junction of the Humuula Sheep
Station Road, when the Armed Forces of the United
States are occupying the Pohakuloa Training Camp
and provided speed limit signs are posted." ?'
SECTION 2. Section 61 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 61. Stop Signs and Yield Signs.
"(a) Except when directed to proceed by a police
officer or traffic control signal, every driver of a
vehicle approaching a stop intersection indicated by a
stop sign shall stop before entering the crosswalk on the
nearest side of the intersection or, in the event there
is no crosswalk, shall stop at a clearly marked stop line,
but if none, then at the point nearest the intersecting
roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic
on the intersecting roadway before entering the intersection.
"(b) The driver of a vehicle approaching a yield sign,
if required for safety to stop, shall stop before entering
the crosswalk on the nearest side of the intersection or,
in the event there is no crosswalk, at a clearly marked

ORDINANCE NO. 309
(Bill No. 344 - 1965)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 25, TRAFFIC CODE OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII, PROHIBITING THE MOVEMENT OF ANY VEHICLE
WITH TWO OR MORE WHEELS ON EACH END OF AN AXLE ON A PUBLIC
HIGHWAY WHEN A ROCK IS EMBEDDED BETWEEN SAID Ti~h3EELS.
This Bill prohibits the operation of dual-wheeled
vehicles on public highways when a rock, is embedded between
the wheels.
