COUNTY OF HAWAII - STATE OF HAWAII
ORDINANCE N0. 317
ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE GENERAL PLAN FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the former Planning and Traffic Commission was
authorized to formulate and adopt a master plan for the overall
future development of the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the former Planning and Traffic Commission had
duly adopted a master plan for the County of Hawaii other than
the District of Kau; and
WHEREAS, under County of Hawaii Ordinance No, 304, which
abolished the Planning and Traffic Commission, the Board of
Supervisors has retained the authority to adopt a general plan
for the overall future development of the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the information to be included in the general plan
is similar in nature to that found in the master plan heretofore
adopted by the former Planning and Traffic Commission; now,
therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY

OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The master plan for the overall future development
of the County of Hawaii other than the District of Kau heretofore
adopted by the former Planning and Traffic Commission under certain
documents entitled "A Plan for the Metropolitan Area of Hilo,"
"A Plan for Kona' and "The Kohala-Hamakua Region General Plan,"
copies of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof,
together with maps, is hereby adopted as the gene ral plan for
the County of Hawaii other than the District of Kau.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.

ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE GENERAL PLAN FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
'T'his Bill establishes a master plan for the overall
future development of the County of Hawaii other than the
District of Kau by adopting as the General Plan documents
entitled "A Plan for the Metropolitan Area of Hilo",
"A Plan for Kona" and "The Kohala-Hamakua Region General Plan."

Copies of the foregoing Ordinance, in full, are on
file in the Office of the County Clerk for use and examination
