AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 10 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1960, AS AMENDED,
PERTAINING TO THE REGULATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT,
OPERATION AND RESPONSIBILITY OF DRIVERS, AND INSPECTION OF
EQUIPMENT OF SCHOOL BUSSES.
This Bill amends Section II paragraph (b) by deleting
the phrase "shall be separated fran the remainder of the bus
by a fireproof material" and amends Section II paragraph (p)
by changing the letter size of signs to be painted on school
busses from not less than ten inches in height to not less
than eight inches in height.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0, 10 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1960, AS AMENDED,
PERTAINING TO THE REGULATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION AND
EQUIPMENT, OPERATION AND RESPONSIBILITY OF DRIVERS, AND
INSPECTION OF EQUIPMENT OF SCHOOL BUSSES,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII;
SECTION 1, Section 2 of Ordinance No. 10 of the Revised
Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1960, as amended, is
further amended as follows:
A. Paragraph (b) is amended to read as follows;
"(b) Gasoline tanks shall be located entirely
outside that part of the school bus utilized for
carrying passengers. Each gasoline tank shall be
equipped with an inlet for filling on the exterior
of the bus,
"This provision shall not apply to diesel-powered
busses."
B. Paragraph (p) is amended to read as follows;
"(p) The words "SCHOOL BUS" shall be painted on
the front and rear of each such vehicle in such place
and color as the Examiner of Chauffeurs shall direct,
Said wordings shall be in letters of not less than
eight inches in height and in strokes of not less
than three quarters inch in width."
