Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Hawaii shall hold a public hearing at the above-
designated place and time concerning Ordinance Bill No. 426
relating to rates for motor vehicle weight tax.
All persons desiring to express their views on this matter
may do so at the public hearing.

ORDINANCE NO. 388
(Bill No. 426 - 1966)
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO COUNTY VEHICLE TAXES,
This Bill sets the rate and tax for vehicles and motor
vehicles operating on our highways as follows:
A. Motor vehicles designed solely for carrying passengers
(which classification shall include automobiles, buses,
ambulances and hearses) one-half of a cent per. pound of such
net weight.
B. Motor vehicles and other vehicles designed for carrying
property or for purposes other than the carriage of passengers
(including trucks, truck tractors and road tractors, trailers
and semi-trailers) one cent per pound of such net weight;
provided, that in no case shall a tax assessed and collected
for any motor vehicle or other vehicle by reason of this
section be less than $6.00,

ORDINANCE N0, 388
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO COUNTY VEHICLE TAXES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS IN AND FOR THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1, Except as otherwise provided in
Section 130-11, Revised Laws of Hawaii 1955, as amended,
all vehicles and motor vehicles, as defined in Section 130-1,
Revised Laws of Hawaii 1955, as amended, located in the County
of Hawaii at the time of registration shall be subject to an
annual tax computed according to the net weight of each
vehicle in the manner hereinafter provided, to be paid by
the owners thereof, which tax shall be collected by the
Treasurer of the County of Hawaii or his deputy and shall
become due and payable on January 1 and must be paid before
April 1, in each year; provided that in the event any vehicle
is transported into this County after the payment of tax, no
additional tax shall be imposed on such vehicle for the
remaining period of the year for which such tax had been paid:
