AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 305 AS AMENDED
BY ORDINANCE NO. 344 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF
HAV~II 1960, RELATING TO THE COMPOSITION OF THE COUNTY TRAFFIC
COMMISSION
This Bill amends Ordinance No. 344 by expanding to include
one representative each from the District Superintendent of
the Department of Education and the District Magistrate of
South Hilo as non-woting advisory members.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 of ORDINANCE N0. 305 AS AMENDED
BY ORDINANCE N0. 344 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII 1960, RELATING TO THE COMPOSITION OF THE COUNTY TRAFFIC
COMMISSION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 305, as amended by
Section 1 of Ordinance No. 344 of the Revised Ordinances of the
County of Hawaii 1960, is hereby further amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. Creation of County Traffic Commission.
There is hereby created a County Traffic Commission which shall
consist of nine (9) members, with one representative each from
the Police Departrent, Division of State Highways and the County
Public Works Department, the District Superintendent of the
Department of Education and the District Magistrate of South
Hilo as non-voting advisory members. The n'.Cne (9) voting members
shall be appointed by the Chairman and Executive Officer of the
Board with the approval of the Board of SupE=rvisors and shall
hold office for three (3) years or until their successors are
appointed and qualified; provided that of tt~e members originally
appointed hereunder three (3) members shall be appointed for a
term expiring January 1, 1966, three (3) members for a term
expiring January 1, 1967, and three (3) members for a term
expiring January 1, 1968; thereafter every appointment shall be
made for a term of three (3) years commencing from the date of
the expiration of the last preceding term. Any vacancy shall be
filled by appointment for the remainder of the unexpired term."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
