AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE SALE, TR~~NSFER, GIVING, 0?1NE1-dSHIP,
ACQUISITION, POSSESSION IIND USE OF TOY RIFLES, AND PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOL~ITION THEidEOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF

SECTION 1, Definition. As used

be unlawful for any minor under the age of 18 to own, acquire by
purchase, gift or otherwise, possess, use, operate or play with a
toy rifle; provided, however, any person under -the age of 18 years,
while under the immediate supervision of an adu:Lt, may possess, use,
operate or play with a toy rifle, provided further that it shall not
be lawful for any such person under the age of 18 years, under any
circumstances, to possess, use, operate or play with a toy rifle in
any public place, except o/hile under such supervision upon a bona
fide public target range.
SECTION 3. Unlawful to permit anv minor under the aae of 18
to own, acquire, possess, use, operate or play with a toy rifle,
It shall be unlawful for any parent, guardian or any other person
having the care, custody or control of any minor. under the age of
18 to permit such minor to own, acquire by purchase, gift, or
otherwise, possess, use, operate or play with a toy rifle, except
as otherwise provided ir. Section 2 of this Ordinance,
SECTION 4. Unlawful for anv oerson to sell,,, transfer or crive
a tov rifle to anv minor under the aae of 18. Except as otherwise
provided in this Ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any person to
sell, transfer or give a toy rifle to any minor under the age of 18,
SECTION 5. Tov rifle forfeited when. All toy rifles owned,
carried or possessed contrary to this Ordinance shall be forfeited
to the County, and shall be destroyed or retained by the Chief of
Police for use by and under the control of the police department.
SECTION G, Penalty. Any person violating any of the
provisions of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be
punished by a fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars 0100.00).
SECTIODI 7. Severability. If any provision. hereof o.r the
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid,
such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or application
of this Ordinance ~ohich can be given effect without the invalid
provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this
Ordinance are declared to be severable.
