AN ORDINANCE PROVIDIDtG FOR SAFETY GLASS IN i:iOTOR VEHICLES,
BE IT ORDAINED BY TI-IE BOF~i2D OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF
HATTAII
SECTION 1. On and after November 1, 1949,. no person shall
sell any new motor vehicle nor shall any now or reconstructed
motor vehicle be registered thereafter which is designed or 'L-o
be used for the purpose of transporting passengers for compensation
or as a school bus unless such vehicle is equipped with safety
glass wherever glass is used in doors, caindows, and windshields.
SECTION 2. The term "safety glass" shall mean any product
composed of glass, so manufactured, fabricated, or treated as
substantially to prevent shattering and flying of the glass when
struck or broken or such other or similar prodL.ct as may be
approved by the chief of police.
