ORDINANCE N0. 49
AN ORDINANCE RESTRICJ'ING ANII'iliLS AND LIVESTOCK ON PUBLIC PLACES
AND PRIVATE LANDS,
3E IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPEFVISORS OF THE; COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1, No person owning, controlling or having the
possession of any livestock of animals, such as cattle, horses, mules,
donkeys, swine, sheep or goats, shall suffer or x>ermit any such
livestock or animals to roam, graze or stray upon. any public land,
highway, street, road, lane or alley in the County of Hawaii,
SECTION 2. No person owning, controlling or having the
possession of any livestock of animals, such as cattle, horses,
mules, donkeys, swine, sheep or goats, shall suffer or permit any
such livestock or animals to main, graze or stray upon the land or
premises belonging to, held or occupied by another in the City of
Hilo without first having obtained permission from the ownE:r, or his
duly appointed agent, if 'the owner shall be the occupier or- holder,
or if he shall have let another occupy or hold th.e same, without
having first obtained the permission of the occupier or holder
thereof, or the duly appointed agent of such occupier or holder. For
the purvose of this or:Iinanee, the City of Hilo shall consist of all
of that portion of the district of South Hilo, County of Hawaii,
which is described in Ser_tion 146-1, Revised Laws of Hawaii- 1955,
as follows;
Bounded on the south by tl:e District of Puna;
bounded on the west by the Districts of h:au and
North Hilo; on the north by the Ahupuaa of Paukaa
in the District of South Hilo; and cn the east by
the sea.
SECTION 3. Any person who shall violate the provisions of
this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof shall be fined not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500,00),
