BE IT ORDAINED BY T]iE BCP:D OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUtiTY OF IiF''dAII:
SECTIO"~ ]. Sub=_:ections (a) and (b) of SPrt~ion 1 of
Ordinance No. 2 of the Revised Ordinances of the County of Hawaii
1967, are hereby amended to read as follows:
"(a) A member of tae Board of Supervisors who has se.ved
the longest continuous tenure on the Board of Su~,ervisors
shall assume tY~ie office of the Chairman and Executi~~ie Cfficer.
";b) SVhen there is more than one supervisor having the
same Length of servzce, then, the supervisor pollin:~ thf~
Largest number of votes in the preceding general e.lecti:~n
shall. assume tY~~e office ~f the Chairman and Executive Officer."
SECTSOT~1 2. This ~+rdinance shall. take effect upon i.ts
approval.

ORDINANCE NO. 82
(Bill No. 454 - 1967)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTIONS (a) AND (b) OF SECTION 1 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 2 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII 1967, RELATING TO THE ORDER~OF SUCCESSION TO THE OFFICE
OF THE CHAIRMAN AND EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS,
COUNTY OF HAWAII, IN THE EVENT OF CIVIL OR MILITARY DISASTER.
This Bill amends Section 1 of ordinance No. 2 by rephrasing
the Order of Succession as follows:
"(a) A member of the Board of Shpervisors who has served
the longest continuous tenure on the Board of Supervisors
shall assume the office of the Chairman and Executive
Officer.
"(b) When there is more than one supervisor having the
same length of service, then, the supervisor polling
the largest number of votes in the preceding
general election shall assume the office of the
Chairman and Executive Officer."
