AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 60 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES
OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1967, AS AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE PLUMBING
CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII:
S ECTION 1. Section 9 of Ordinance No. 60, Revised Ordinances
of the County of Hawaii 1967, is hereby amended to read:
"SECTION 9. Amend the schedule of fees, appearing
after Section 1,13 to read:
" 'Schedule of Fees
For issuing each permit, for other than Government
projects ......................................... $1.00
In addition, for other than Government projects,
fees for the installation of fixtures, etc.,
For each house sewer ......... ..... ....
s 2.00
For each plumbing fixture or trap or set
of fixtures on one trap ,,... 1.00
For retesting of existing plumbing and/or
gas system in relocated building ,,,,,,. 1.00
For repair or alteration of waste or vent
piping .... .... .. .......
... ... ... ....... 1.00
For installation or alteration of water
piping and/or water treating
equipment .............................. 1.00
For lawn sprinkling system including
backfiow protection devices ............ 1.00
For each waste interceptor or equipment
including sewage ejector ... .... .... 1.00
For vacuum breakers or backflow protective
devices installed subsequent to the
installation of the piping to special
fixtures or equipment served, includ-
ing the necessary water piping ......... 2.00
For each water heater and/or vent ........... 1,00
For each domestic or commercial gas

For other gas piping system or temporary

In addition, for temporary gas and water

SECTION 2. Section 14 of Ordinance No. 60, Revised
Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1967, is hereby amended
to reads
"SECTION 14, Amend Section 2,6 to read:
" 'Sec. 2.6 -- Application Fee
" 'Every person applying for a Plumber's Certificate
of Qualification or Registration shall pay to the
secretary"of the Board of Plumber Examiners at the
time he makes such application the following fees:
(a) Application for Master Plumber's
Certificate ............ ........ $20.00
(b) Application for Journeyman
Plumber's Certificate........... 5.00 ' "
SECTION 3. Section 15 of Ordinance No. 60, Revised
Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1967, is hereby amended
to read:
"SECTION 15. Amend Section 2.7 to read:
" 'Sec. 2.7 -- Issuance of Certificate of
Qualification or Registration
" 'The Board of Plumber Examiners shall issue
Certificates of Qualification or Registration pursuant
to the following provisions:
" '(a) Master Plumber's Certificate of Qualifi-
cation or Registration shall be issued to every person
who has had issued to him a valid Journeyman Plumber's
Certificate of Qualification or Registration and has
participated in said trade for not less than one (1)
full year and who furnishes satisfactory evidence of
such fact, makes application, pays the required fee
and successfully passes the examination conducted by
the Board of Plumber Examiners.
" '(b) Journeyman Plumber's Certificate of
Qualification or Registration shall be issued to any
person who has attained the age of twenty (20) years,
has completed a plumbing apprenticeship training course
conducted by any (registered) private or overnmental
agency and has had not less than three (3~ full years
actual field experience under the immediate supervision
of a registered licensed plumber and is able to furnish
satisfactory evidence of such fact, or an experience of
not less than five (5) full years or its equivalent

SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
