ORDINANCE N0. 92
ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 53 (DRIVEWAY APPROACHES),
REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1967, BY ADDING
A PROVISION AUTHORIZING COMMON DRIVEWAY APPROACHES UNDER
UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS IN AND FOR THE COUNTY
HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Subsection D under Section 4, Standards for
Driveway Approaches, is amended to read as follows:
"D. Distance between drivewa a roach and ro ert
line. No portion of a driveway approac shal be
constructed closer than 2 feet to the extension of any
property line dividing 2 lots except where the property
frontage is less than 20 feet, in which case the flared
portion may extend beyond the property line extension.
Where unusual circumstances exist and ingress and egress
would be facilitated thereby, the Chief Engineer may
authorize a common driveway approach, in which case the
2-foot limitation herein shall not apply.
"In the case of lots qualifying for two driveways,
a common driveway approach shall count as one of the two
driveways."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.

This, Bill increases t:he anembership of the Economic
Development Comrc~i.ttee from five (S) to nine (9) members
and establishes that. each ccxnmission member shall be
broadly representative of the principal social. and
economic interests of the County of Hawaii, and will include
representatives of business, labor, agriculture, minority
groups, the unemployed and underemployed,
