HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1968-133BILL NO, 504 COUNTY OF HAWAII - STATE OF HAWAII ORDINANCE NO, 133 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO, 63 (ZONING ORDINANCE), REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1967, RELATIVE TO HEIGHT LIMITATIONS AND CONDITIONALLY PERMITTED USES, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1, Subsection C of Section 15 of Ordinance No, 63 (Zoning Ordinance), Revised Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1967, is hereby amended to read as follows: "C, HEIGHT LIMITS: No building or structure shall exceed a height of forty-five (45) feet or contain more than three (3) stories except that a 'variance' may be granted for a four (4) story building with height limits of fifty-five (55) feet, if the Planning Commission finds that the additional height will not render the building conspicuous in relation to its natural surroundings; and in the City of Hilo, ten (10) stories but not higher than one hundred twenty (120) feet; Kailua-Kona and Keauhou Bay, seven (7) stories but not higher than ninety (90) feet; and said areas have been delineated and designated on the 'Zoning Map' by an alphabet after V (VH ,75)," SECTION 2, Subsection B, 3) of Section 30 of Ordinance No. 63 (Zoning Ordinance), Revised Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1967, is hereby amended by adding a new paragraph at the end thereof to read ae--€©ilewc~~r~, K "B, 3) h, In a CV district a hotel may be allowed when such use and design conform to the character of the area, the district regulations and approved by the Director," Ocd. Ido. _-c1- ) ~ ---- - ~~=te:.---Jllll._---~._-1:a.4~--....._ JUN ?. 9 iso3 SECTION 3, Subsection E, 5) of Section 30 of Ordinance No. 63 (Zoning Ordinance), Revised ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1967, is hereby amended to read as follows: "E, 5) In any district, in addition to the allowable number of floors above ground any number of floors below ground may be permitted, Upon securing plan approval, a basement constructed on a sloping ground which is partly below and partly above grade but so located that the average vertical distance from grade to the floor below is more than the vertical distance from grade to ceiling may have the downhill side of such basement exposed; provided, that in either case the district height limits are rigidly observed," SECTION 4, This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval, Hilo, Hawaii Date of Introduction: INTRODUCED BY: ~ ~ PER SOR, Count of Hawaii June 5, 1968 Date of Adoption: June 19, 1968 -2-
