ORDINANCE N0. 180
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 39 (TRAFFIC CODE),
REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CUUNTY OF HAWAII 1967, AS
AMENDED, PERTAINING TO INSPECTION OF VEHICLES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS IN AND FOR
THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Article 21 of Ordinance No. 39, the Traffic
Code of the County of Hawaii, concerning the inspection of
vehicles, is hereby amended in full to read as follows:
"ARTICLE 21. INSPECTION OF VEHICLES
"SECTION 21-1 DESIGNATION OF THE POLICE DEPARTM~:NT
"The Police Department is hereby designated
the county department having the responsibility
for administering the periodic vehicle inspection
program.
"SECTION 21-2 INSPECTION OF VEHICLES
"Periodic safety inspection of vehicles shall
be as provided by law and rules and regulations
promulgated by the State Highway Safety Coordinator.
"SECTION 21-3 INSPECTION FEE
"The person operating an official inspection
station may charge not more than a fee of
THREE DOLLARS ($ 3.00) for
the certificate of inspection and approval and
affixing of inspection stickers, regardless of
whether a certificate of approval is issued or
whether affixing of inspection stickers is done."

"SECTION 21-4 COST OF INSPECTION STICKERS AND
VEHICLE INSPECTION BOOK5.
"The Police Department shall charge and collect
from each operator of an official inspection station
the sum of TWENTY-FIVE CENTS ($.25) for each vehicle
inspection sticker and the sum of ONE DOLLAR ($1.00)
for each vehicle inspection book distributed to said
operator."
SECTION 2. The 1968 safety sticker shall be valid until
March 31, 1969.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect on January 1,
1969.

AMENDED, PER'PAINING TO INSPECTION OF VEHICLES,
This Bill designates the Police Department as the
county department responsible for administering the
periodic inspection program of vehicles as provided by
law and rules and regulations promulgated by the State
Highway Safety Coordinator and sets the cost of fees for
the certificate of inspection and approval and cost of
inspection stickers and vehicle inspection books.
