AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ORDER OF SUCCESSION TO THE
OFFICE OF THE MAYOR, COiJN'I'Y OF HAWAII, DURIPJG THE TEMPORARY
ABSENCE OR DISABILITY OF THE MAYOR, IN THE EVENT OF CIVIL
OR MILITARY DISAS TER.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. In the event of civil or m':litary disaster,
during the temporary absence or disaktility of the Mayor, the
Managing Director shall ac r. as Mayor. If the office of
Managing Director is vacant, or during such periods as the
Managing Director is unable to so act, the Director of Finance
shall then act as Mayor. If the office of Director of Finance
is vacant, or during a.uch oeriods as the Director of Finance is
unable to so act, then the Planning Director°, Director of
Research and Development, Director of Personnel Services and
Director, Department of Liquor Control, sha~'~l succeed to the
office of Mayor in the order of the listing specified herein.
SECTION ?. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.

file in the Office of the County Clerk for use and examination
by the public.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance passed
second and final reading at the meeting of the County Council
on March 5, 1969, by the following aye and no vote:
