HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1969-199BILL N0. 576 COUNTY OF HAWAII - STATE OF HAWAII ORDINANCE N0. a ~~~' AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 39 (TRAFFIC ORDINANCE), REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1967, BY AMENDING SECTION 20-15, PERTAINING TO LAMPS OR FLAGS ON PROJECTING LOAD, AND SECTION 16-3, PERTAINING TO ANGLE PARKING SIGNS OR MARKERS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Section 20-15, of Ordinance No. 39, Revised Ordinances, County of Hawaii 1967, is hereby amended by adding paragraph (a) thereto to read as follows: "(a) No pole trailer shall be operated on the public highway with any part of the permanent structure or load extending in excess of six (6) feet back from the center of the rearmost axle of such vehicle unless there is displayed at the extreme rear end of the load or permanent structure at the times specified in Section 20-3, two (2) red lamps, visible from a distance of at least 500 feet to the rear, two (2) red reflectors meeting the requirements of Section 20-13(a), visible from the rear and located so as to indicate maximum width and on each side one (1) red lamp, visible from a distance of at least 500 feet to the side, located so as to indicate maximum overhang to t;he rear. There shall be displayed at all other times, red flags, not less than 12 inches square, marking the extremities of such load or permanent structure, at each point where a lamp would otherwise be required by this section, under Section 20-3." SECTION 2. Section 16-3 of Ordinance No. 39, Revised Ordinances, County of Hawaii 1967, is hereby amended t;o read -t, as follows: ,,~ ^,a i> - ~, a "Section 16-3. On those streets which have been signed or marked by the County or State Highway Engineer for angle parking, no person shall park or stand a vehicle other than at the angle to the curb or edge of the roadway indicated by such signs or markings, provided that no such vehicle nor part of any such vehicle shall be on or extend over the main traveled portion of the highway." SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
