ORDINANCE NO, 230
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7,05, THE KAILUA_HONALO URBAN ZONE
MAP, ORDINANCE NO. 63 (ZONING ORDINANCE), REVISED ORDINANCES OF
THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1967, AS AMENDED, BY CHANGING THE DISTRICT
CLASSIFICATION FROM RESORT HOTEL (V-,75) TO RESORT HOTEL (VH_,75)
IN KAHALUU, NORTH KONA, HAWAII.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1, Section 7,05 of Ordinance No, 63 (Zoning Ordinance),
Revised Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1967, as amended, is
hereby further amended by adding thereto the following subsection:
"7.05(e), The district classification of the following
area situated at Kahaluu, North Kona, Hawaii, shall be Resort
Hotel (VH-,75):
Beginning at the northeast corner of this parcel of land, the
southeast corner of Kahaluu Park and on the west side of Alii
Drive, the coordinates of said point of beginning referred to
Government Survey Triangulation Station "Keauhou Coast" being
8985,35 feet north and 118,24 feet east, and running thence
by azimuths measured clockwise from true south:
1, 359° 06~ 52" 1385.67 feet along the west side of
Alii Drive;
2, 89° 06i 52" 465,45 feet along the remainder of R, P,
6856, L, C, Aw, 7713, Ap, 6 to
V, Kamamalu; thence running
northerly for the next thirty-five
(35) courses, the direct azimuths
and distances being
3, 156° 04= 30" 100,24 feet;
4, 130° 51° 30" 36,92 feet;
5, 147° 24~ 67,27 feet;
6, 131° 22~ 178,59 feet;
7, 136° 33~ 30" 64,82 feet;
8, 154° 59~ 136,34 feet;
9, 160° 13~ 30" 95,92 feet;

of 22.727 acres.
All as outlined in red on the map attached hereto,
marked Exhibit "A," and by reference made a part hereof."
SECTION 2. Section 15-C, Height Limits, of Ordinance No. 63
(Zoning Ordinance), Revised Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1967,
as amended, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"C. HEIGHT LIMITS: No building or structure shall
exceed a height of forty-five (45) feet or contain
more than three (3) stories except that a 'variance'
may be granted for a four (4) story building with
height limits of fifty-five (55) feet, if the
Planning Commission finds that the additional height
will not render the building conspicuous in relation
to its natural surroundings; and in the City of
Hilo, ten (10) stories but not higher than one
hundred twenty (120) feet; Kailua-Kona, Keauhou Bay,
and Kahaluu Bay, seven (7) stories but not higher
than ninety (90) feet; and said areas have been
delineated and designated on the 'Zoning Map' by
an alphabet H after V (VH .75)."
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
