ORDINANCE NO, ~~-..
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION (a) (TWENTY-FIVE MILES PER
HOUR) OF SECTION 10-4 (PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS) OF ORDINANCE
NO, 39 (TRAFFIC CODE), REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII 1967,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Subsection (a) of Section 10-4 of Ordinance
No, 39, Revised Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1967, is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"(a) Twenty-five miles per hour;
"When passing a school site ox' the grounds
thereof, which are contiguous to, or located in close
proximity to, the highway and posted with a standard
'School° warning sign while children are going to or
leaving such school during opening or closing hours,
Such prima facie limit shall also apply during school
recesses when passing any school grounds which are not
separated from the highway by a fence or other physical
barrier capable of restraining a child, while the grounds
within seventy-five feet of the highway are in use by
children and the highway is posted with a standard
'School' warning sign,"
SECTION 2, This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval,
