HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1969-296BILL NO. 664 COUNTY OF HAWAII - STATE OF HAWAII ORDINANCE N0. ` 9(i AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 45 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1967, RELATING TO THE REGULATION OF COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF REFUSE, DEAD ANIMALS AND OTHER MATERIALS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF HAWAII. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Section 7 of Ordinance No. 45, Revised Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1967, is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 7. DEAD ANIMALS. The disposal of dead cattle, horses, mules, goats, dogs, cats and similar animals are considered the responsibility of the owner. All dead animals shall be properly buried, burned or disposed of within a reasonable time after death, or before the same shall constitute a nuisance. "All small animals such as dogs, cats and similar animals shall be accepted for disposal at the South Hilo Landfill area only and provided they are delivered from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on weekdays when they can be buried promptly as a part of the regular operation." SECTION 2. Section 12 and Section 13 of Ordinance No. 45, Revised Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1967, are hereby redesignated Section 15 and Section 16, respectively. SECTION 3. Ordinance No. 45, Revised Ordinances of the Countyof Hawaii 1967, is hereby amended by adding new sections to read as follows; "SECTION 12. BURNING ON COUNTY DUMPING GROUND. It shall be unlawful for any person to set fire to or burn any papers, trash or garbage deposited within the dumping grounds used by the County forthe depositing or dumping of such trash or garbage without the permission of the superintendent authorizing and directing such burning. "SECTION 13. SALVAGE OF REFUSE All materials delivered and deposited at the County dumping grounds shall become the property of the County of Hawaii. O -d. C'• ~ ~ "?59 JAN 9 19~ i7 It shall be unlawful for any person to separate, collect, carry aff or dispose any article from any County dumping ground unless authorized to do so by the Chief Engineer or his representative. "SECTION 14, DISPOSAL OF REFUSE. Acceptable rubbish, refuse, household appliances and unburnables, within the City of Hilo, transported to the County dump area by any person shall be accepted by the department for disposal. "All large and bulky materials such as auto car bodies, stoves, water heaters and refrigerators shall be placed only at designated areas and only on weekdays. "Unusual quantities of materials resulting from construction or wrecking of buildinos and structures or that may result from manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural processes shall be considered not acceptable for disposal in any County dump area."
