RESOLUTION NO, X46 00
RESOLUTION CREATING TWO (2) FIRE PREVENTION INSPECTOR I
TEMPORARY AND TWO (2) ACCOUNT CLERK TEMPORARY POSITIONS FOR
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Section132D, HRS, states that a license or permit is required to store, offer to sell,
sell, purchase, set off, ignite or discharge, or cause to explode any non-aerial or aerial common or
special fireworks, and
WHEREAS, a revision of Chapter 14 of the Hawaii County Code relating to fireworks is
presently being amended to include the Fireworks Code, and
WHEREAS, by creating two (2) Fire Inspector I Temporary, SR-21, positions and two (2)
Account Clerk Temporary, SR-11, positions, the fire department would be able to comply to the terms
of Act 233, HRS, and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1 3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that the Mayor has
the power to "Create positions for which appropriations have been made by the counal "
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that two (2) Fire Prevention Inspector I Temporary, SR-21 and two (2) Account Clerk Temporary, SR-
11,positions be created
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds are available In the Fireworks Enforcement Regular
Salaries and Wages account (010-221-5222 01-011)
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Finance, Flre,
and Clvll Service Departments
