ORDINANCE N0. '~~`~
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE N0. 284, PROHIBITING
THE USE OR CONSUMPTION OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS IN CERTAIN PUBLIC
PLACES AND PROHIBITING THE USE OR CONSUMPTION OF INTOXICATING
LIQUORS IN OTHER PUBLIC PLACES WITHOUT PERMITS, REVISED ORDINANCES
OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1967.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 284 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"SECTION 2. No person shall drink, offer to drink,
or display to public view in the following public areas or
buildings located on public areas, any intoxicating ]iquors,
whether in a bottle, demijohn, jug, container or otherwise:
"A. All public highways and public rights-of-way,
public sidewalks, public breakwaters and public seawalls,
except seawalls in parks wherein drinking is not prohibited.
"B. All public school grounds and buildings;
"C. All public areas or buildings contiguous to all
public school grounds and buildings;
"D. All public parks, except parks enumerated in
Section 3, on which children's playground equipment, such
as slides, jungle jims, see-saws and swings, are located;
"E. All the following public areas:
"1. All public areas, except Coconut Island,
located on the Banyan Peninsula, being that area
makai of Kamehameha Avenue-Kalanianaole Avenue from
the Wailoa River estuary to the Steak 'N Lobster
Restaurant.
"2. Mooheau Park
"3. Hilo Bayfront Park
"4. Clem A. Akina Park and Pavilion
"5. Kailua Playground
"6. Kalakaua Park
"7. Kaumana Caves
"8. Lincoln Park and Tennis Court
"9. Villa Franca (Keikiland and triangle bounded
by Kinoole Street, Hoku Street and Mauna Kea Street)"
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
