ORDINANCE N0. ^
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 39 (TRAFFIC CODE),
REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII 1967, AS
AMENDED, BY FURTHER AMENDING SECTION 6-7, PERTAINING
TO NO-PASSING ZONES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 6-7 of Ordinance No. 39, Revised
Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1967, is hereby further
amended by adding subsection (e) as follows:
"(e) Where the width of winding or hilly roads is
less than 18 feet, the County Engineer and District
Engineer are authorized to use advisory and wam ing signs
indicating the winding or hilly condition of the route
and the narrowness of the road instead of standard
signs and markings for no passing zones required under
subsection (d) above. These warning and advisory signs
shall be placed at the beginning of the winding or
hilly road and at intervals of not more than two (2)
miles. Standard broken center line may be used on
these narrow roads as a guide line for motorists."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
