AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE REMOVAL OF SAND AND OTHER
MATERIALS FROM SPECIFIED PUBLIC AREAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SEC. 1. It is hereby declared to be the legislative
intent of the Council of the County of Hawaii to prohibit the
unauthorized removal of sand and other materials from specified
public areas, to wit:
(a) Punaluu Beach Park
(b) Kaimu Beach Park
(c) Kahaluu Park
(d) Samuel Spencer Beach Park
(e) Honolulu Landing Sand Hill
SEC. 2. It shall be unlawful to remove sand, coral, rocks,
soil or other beach compositions for any purpose from within any
of the public areas designated in Section 1 above.
SEC. 3. Any person violating this ordinance and convicted
thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($500) and/or confined to the County Jail for a term
not to exceed thirty (30) days, or both.
SEC. 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
