ORDINANCE NO. ~~3~
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 409, AS AMENDED, RELATING
TO THE CAPITAL BUDGET FOR THE PERIOD FROM July 1, 1971, to
June 30, 1972.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 409, as amended, relating to
the Capital Budget for the period from July 1, 1971, to
June 30, 1972, is hereby amended by adding following projects:
1. Department of Public Works:
Building and Miscellaneous Improvements:
Extension to Konawaena School
Building - $11,178.45
2. Department of Parks and Recreation:
Kona Hill crest Subdivision Playground - $45,000.00
SECTION 2. Funds for these projects shall be provided
from available funds or issuance of general obligation bonds.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon
approval.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 409, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE
CAPITAL BUDGET FOR THE PERIOD FROM July 1, 1971, to June 30, 1972.
Thia Bill proposes Co amend Ordinance No. 409, relating to the
Capital Budget for the period from July 1, 1971, to June 30, 1972,
by adding the following projects:
1. Department of Public Works:
Building and Miscellaneous Improvements:
Extension to Konawaena School
Building - $11,178.45
2. Department of Parks and Recreation;
Kona Hillcrest Subdivision Playground - $45,000.00
This Bill further proposes that funds for these projects shall be
provided from available funds or issuance of general obligation bonds.

of the County Clerk for use and examination by the public.

Fiords fo.r development of a playground in Ka:ilua-I:ona were
originally appropriated in Ordinance ?~o. 192 ($15,000) anal
Ordinance No. 235 ($30,000). The plan was to construct a
ballfi.eld-playground at the Al.ii 1Cai Subdivision; but
because of the unsuitability of the available site in this
subdivi_si.on, the location wa:- shifted t_o the Icona 1ii11crest
Subdivision.
The project Baas advertised for bidding but before funds could
be encwnbered, the entire amount of $45,000 was lapsed. Pills
have now been .r.eceived and the apparent low bid is $42,463.60.
It is therefore requested that Ordinance 1\0. 409 be amended
to re-authorize the project and re-appropriate the funds.
Similar course is requested for the Ronawaena School project
(formerly GO-8626 - $3,524.02 and GO-3627 - $7,654.43) balance
totaling $11,170.45.
