Home My WebLink AboutORD 1972-547BILL NO. qd5 COUNTY OF HAWAII - STATE OF HAWAII ORDINANCE NO. ~~~~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-4(a) PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS, AND SUBSECTIONS (a)-10, (b)-2, and (c)-1 OF SECTION 10-5, SPECIAL SPEED LIMITS, OF ORDINANCE NO. 39 (TRAFFIC CODE), REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, AS AMENDED. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Section 10-4(a) is hereby amended so as to consist of two parts. The existing provision, as amended, dealing with speed limits in school district areas is hereby designated Section 10-4(a)1. SECTION 2. Section 10-4(a) as amended is amended by the addition of the following: "2. In a residential district except for the following streets in South Hilo: a. 35 Miles Per Hour Haihai Street Kawailani Street-From Mauka Terminal to Kinoole Street Puainako Street-From Mauka Terminal to Kinoole Street Mohouli Street-From Mauka Terminal to Kinoole Street Waianuenue Ave.-(amend) From Mauka Terminal to Halai Street Ainako Street Lanikaula Street-From Kilauea to Kanoelehua Kekuanaoa Street Kinoole Street-From Haihai to Ponahawai Komohana Street-From Ainaola to Puainako Kaumana Drive Wainaku Street Kaiwiki Road Kalanianaole Street-Kamehameha Ave. to Kuhio Street b. 45 Miles Per Hour Komohana Street-Puainako to Punahele Kalanianaole Street-From Kuhio Street easterly to its terminal" SECTION 3. Section 10-4(c) is amended by striking the words "In a residential district'° therefrom. SECTION 4. Section 10-5(b)-2 is hereby repealed, SECTION 5. Section 10-5 (c)-1 is hereby repealed. SECTION 6. Section 10-5(a)-10 is amended to read: "10. Waianuenue Avenue from Halai Street to Bayfront Highway.°' SECTION 7. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
