AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7.05, THE KAILUA-HONALO URBAN ZONE MAP, OF
CHAPTER 8 (ZONING CODE), ARTICLE 2, HAWAII COUNTY CODE, AS AMENDED, BY
CHANGING THE DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION FROM SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL (RS-10)
TO OPEN (O), FROM RESORT-HOTEL (VH-.75) TO RESORT-HOTEL (VH-1.5) AND OPEN
(O), FROM OPEN (O) TO RESORT-HOT~L (VH-1.5) AND FROM MULTIPLE FAMILY RESI-
DENTIAL (RM-2.0) TO RESORT-HOTEL!(VH-1.5) AND OPEN (O) AT KEAUHOU 1 AND

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 7.05 of Chapter 8 (Zoning Code), Article 2, Hawaii
County Code, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding thereto the
following subsection:
"7.05(0-1). The district classification of the following area
situated at Keauhou 1, North Kona, Hawaii, shall be Open (O):
Beginning at the northeast .corner of this parcel of land, at the inter-
section of a private roadway with the Old Government Road, the coordi-
nates of said point of beginning referred to Government Survey Triangu-
lation Station "KEAUHOU COAST" being 3431.54 feet North and 1526.69 feet
East, and running thence by azimuths measured clockwise from true South:
1. 5° 57' 30" 80.00 feet along the westerly side of Old
Government Road;
2. 352° 52' 30" 101.20 feet along same;
3. 60° 41' 30" 27.42 feet along the remainder of R. P. 4475,

SECTION 2. Section 1 of this ordinance shall take effect forthwith
upon the conditions that (A) a Planned Unit Development application be
processed and approved prior to construction of any new facilities on the
property; (B) permanent public access to the beach area be provided. Said
access shall be determined in conjunction with the applicant's Planned Unit
Development permit; (C) the roads wading into the subject area shall be
improved up to County dedicable standards; and (D) the Bishop Museum's
concerns for salvage and recordation of sites in the area be accommodated
prior to any clearing of the area.
SECTION 3. In the event that any portion of this ordinance is declared
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other parts of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.

by changing the district classification from Single Family Residential
(RS-10) to Open (O), from Resort-Hotel (VH-.75) to Resort-Hotel (VH-1.5)
and Open (O), from Open (O) to Resort-Hotel (VH-1.5) and from Multiple
Family Residential (RM-2.0) to Resort-Hotel (VH-1.5) and Open (O) at
Keauhou 1 and Keauhou 2, N. Kona.
