AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE HILO DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT PLAN
PURSC7ANT TO ORDINANCE NO. 439, GENERAL PLAN, COUNTY OF
HAWAII.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THF. COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Legislative Intent.
The County adopted Ordinance No. 439, its General Plan,
in 1971, which contained. a course of action requiring the
County to "implement a program to revitalize downtown."
The Hilo Downtown Development Plan was thus prepared to
fulfill that mandate.
SECTION 7_. Adoption of the fiilo Downtown Development
Plan.
The Preliminary Hilo Downtown Development Plan, as
prepared by Bolt, Collins & Associates, Ltd., and contained.
in their supplmentary report of. April 1.9, 1974, is hereby
adopted. as the County's Final Hilo Downtown Development Plan
with the following amendments:
a. Approve items 4 to 10, inclusive, of the April 19,
1974 report; and
b. Reject items 1, 2, 3, and 11 of the April 19, 1974
report.
SECTION 3. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
