AMENDING CHAPTER. 6, TRAFFIC CODE OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE, RELATING TO THE CREATION OF ONE-WAY STREET OF KEAWE AND KIPIOOLE STREETS, BETWEEN WAIANLJENUE AVENiJE AND PONAHAWAI STREET. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNTY COUPdCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Schedule 6, Article 11 of Chapter 6, Hawaii County Code, is amended as follows: "4. Kilauea Avenue. All vehicular traffic shall move only from Hamakua to Puna between Haili Street and Ponahawai Street." SECTION 2. Schedule 6, Article 11 of Chapter 6, Hawaii County Code, is amended by the following additional items: "23. Keawe Street. All vehicles shall move in a Puna direction between Waianuenue Avenue and the intersection of Keawe and Kilauea Streets. "24. Kinoo]_e Street. All vehicles shall move in the Hamakua direction between Ponahawai Street and Waianuenue Avenue." SECTIOPI 3. Schedule 11, Article 15, Section 7 of Chapter 6 is amended. as follows: 1. Delete item 3 (Waianuenue Avenue, from Kekaulike Street to Kinoole Street) under THIRTY-SI.a MINLiTE PARKIN(; AREAS. 2. Item 13 under OniE-HOUR PARKING- AREAS is amended to read: "Waianuenue Avenue from Keawe Street to Kamehameha Avenue.' 3. Item 16 (Waianuenue Avenue, from Kinoole Street to Ululani Street) under ODIE-FOUR PARKING AREAS is deleted. 4, item 5 under TWO-HOUR PARKING AREAS is amended to read: "Waianuenue Avenue, from a point 100 feet from i?lulani Street to Y,aiulani Street." SECTION 4. Schedule 16, Article 17, Section 1 of Chapter 6, is amended as follows: 1. Delete item 3 (Waianuenue Avenue, from Kekaulike Street to Kinoole Street) under THIRTY-SIX MINUTE. PARKING METER 'L ONES. 2. Ztem 13 under ONE-HOUR PARKING METER ZONES is amended to read: "Waianuenue Avenue, from Keawe Street to Kamehameha Avenue.°' SECTION Schedule 12, Article 15, Section E of Chapter 6, is amended by adding the following item under SOUTH HILO: "102. Waianuenue Avenue, from Keawe Street to a point 100 feet mauka of Ululani Street.' SECTION F.. Article I, Section 4 of Chapter 6, is amended by adding the following section: `Sec'tion 4.04. The Chief Engineer of the County of Hawaii is hereby empowered to make changes in parking and other traffic controls for a period of 90 days a:~ a temporary measure to effectuate the provisions of anv amendment to the Traffic Code." SECTION 7. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
