It has authorized the release of funds for 11 projects at approximately 85% federal and 15% county. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Capital Budget by appropriating $1,500,000 of federal funds for the Stream Repairs project. Because of the urgency of this project, the Department of Public Works would like to have this bill heard at the Council meeting scheduled for November 29, 2000. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): NRCS qualifying emergency and permanent repairs to various streams in the County of Hawaii caused by the November 1-2, 2000 storm will be cost shared at approximately 85% federal and 15% county basis. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review.
