AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 35 D "HORN AND WARNING DEVICES' ,
ARTICLE 18 , CHAPTER 6 (TRAFFIC CODE) , HAWAII COUNTY CODE, AS
AMENDED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII :
SECTION 1. Section 35 D, Article 18 , Chapter 6 , of
the Hawaii County Code, is hereby amended to read as follows :
D. Any authorized emergency vehicle may be
equipped with a siren capable of emitting
sound audible under normal conditions from
a distance of not less than 500 feet and
of a type [approved by the Chief of Police]
complying with Section 3 .41 of Article 1,
hereof, but such siren not be used except
when such vehicle is operated in response
toan . . . .
SECTION 2 . Superseded material is enclosed in brackets
and new material is underscored.
SECTION 3 . This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
