AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6 (TRAFFIC CODE), ARTICLE 8,
SECTION 5, HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1975, AS AMENDED, RELATING
TO PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The "Thirty-five miles per hour" category
of Schedule 5 of Chapter 6, Article 8, Section 5, Hawaii
County Code 1975, as amended, is hereby amended by deleting
item no. 14, referring to the Kapoho-Kalapana Road, from
the Kapoho Light House intersection to Kaimu Beach.
SECTION 2. The "Thirty-five miles per hour" category
of Schedule 5 of Chapter 6, P..rticle 8, Section 5, Hawaii
County Code 1975, as amended, is hereby amended by amending
item no. 10 to read as follows:
"Pahoa-Kalapana Road from Kaimu Junction for a
distance of 1,000 feet in the mauka direction."
SECTION 3. The "Thirty-five miles per hour" category
of Schedule 5 of Chapter 6, Article 8, Section 5, Hawaii
County Code 1975, as amended, is hereby amended by amending
the item referring to the speed limit of the Kalapana Beach
Road to read:
"Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road, from a point 2.35
miles south of the Kapoho-KUmukahi Intersection to
the Hawaii National Park Boundary."
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.

This Bill amends Chapter 6 (Traffic Code), Article 8, Section 5,
Hawaii County Code 1975, as amended, to establish 30 mph speed
