ORDINANCE NO. ~r.'7S
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6 (TRAFFIC CODE), ARTICLE 8,
SECTION 5, HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1975, AS AMENDED, RELATING
TO PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 273, adopted
on May 18, 1977, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"The 'Thirty [Thirty-five] miles per hour'
category of Schedule 5 of Chapter 6, Article 8,
Section 5, Hawaii County Code 1975, as amended,
is hereby amended by amending the item referring
to the speed limit of the Kalapana Beach Road to
read:
"'Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road, from a point
2.35 miles south of the Kapoho-Kumukahi Intersection
to the Hawaii National Park Boundary."'
SECTION 2. Superseded material is enclosed in brackets
and new material is underscored. In printing this ordinance
the County Clerk is authorized to delete the bracketed
materials and the underscoring.
SECTION 3. This ordinan<:e shall take effect upon its
approval.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6 ('PRAFF•'IC CODE), ARTICLE 8,
SECTION 5, HAWAII COUNTY CODE 197'5, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO
PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS.
This Bill amends Chapter 6 (Traffic Code), Article 8,
Section 5, Hawaii County Code 1975, as amended, by changing the
speed limit for the Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road from 35 mph
to 30 mph.
