ORDINANCE NO. 3OO
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 271, RELATING TO THE
ISSUANCE OF $7,000,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The Council of tha_ County of Hawaii hereby
finds and determines: (a) Section 47-6, Hawaii Revised Statutes,
provides, in part, that part of the proceeds of bonds which the
governing body deems should not be applied to the purposes for
which such bonds were originally issued, may, by an affirmative
vote of two-thirds of all the members of the governing body, be
applied to such other public improvements of the county as the
governing body may determine; (b) clause (i) of Section 1 of
Ordinance No. 271 authorized the issuance and sale of general
obligation bonds of the County of Hawaii in the principal amount
of $3,000,000, the proceeds derived from the sale thereof to be
used to pay all or part of the cost: of appropriations for various
public improvements of the County t:o be financed from general
obligation bond funds made in certain capital budget ordinances
heretofore enacted by council of the County; (c) it is advisable
and in the best interest of the County that so much of the afore-
said $3,000,000 of bonds as may be required to pay all or part of
the cost of appropriations for various public improvements of the
County to 'be financed from general obligation bond funds made in
the capital budget ordinance for tY.ie fiscal year ending June 30,
1978 (Ordinance No. 289, as amended) should not be applied to the
purposes for which such bonds were originally issued and in lieu
of such application be applied to pay all or part of the cost of
appropriations for various public improvements of the county to be
financed from general obligation bond funds made in said capital
budget ordinance for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1978
(Ordinance No. 289, as amended); (d) it is advisable and in the
best interest of the County to amend Ordinance No. 271 in order
to provide for the application of the proceeds of the bonds
authorized in clause (i) of Section 1 thereof to be applied as
set forth in (c) above.
SECTION 2. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 271 is hereby amended
by authorizing the use of proceeds from the sale of the $3,000,000
in general obligation bonds authorized in clause (i) of said
Section 1 for projects approved in the capital budget ordinance
for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1978 (Ordinance No. 289,
as amended).
SECTION 3. Section 6 of Ordinance No. 271 is hereby amended
by adding public improvements made in Capital Budget Ordinance
No. 289, as amended.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.

amended 'by authorizing the use of proceeds from the sale of
$7,000,000 in general obligation 'bonds for projects approved
in the capital budget ordinance i.or the fiscal year ending
June 30, 1978 (Ordinance No. 289), as amended.
SECTION 2. Section 6 of Ordinance No. 271 is hereby
amended by adding public improvements made in Capital Budget
Ordinance No. 289, as amended.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon
its approval.
