ORDINANCE NO. UQ~
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 10, HAWAII COUNTY CODE,
BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SECTION FIXING DOG LICENSE FEES.
WHEREAS, Section 143-3, Hawaii Revised Statutes, empowers
each county council to fix the annual license fee for dogs; and
WHEREAS, Section 143-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, provides
that the legislative bodies of th,e several counties may, by
ordinance, dispense with or modify the licensing requirements
of Chapter 143;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII:
Section 1. Chapter 2, Article 10, Hawaii County Code, as
amended, is further amended by the addition of Section 13 to
read as follows:
"ARTICLE 10
MISCELLANEOUS
SHC. 13. DOG LICENSE FEES.
SEC. 13.01 AMOUNT OF FEES. The following fees are hereby
established as annual license fees for the privilege of owning,
harboring or keeping of dogs in the County of Hawaii:
A. Sterilized dogs $1.00
B. Unsterilized dogs 3.00
SEC. 13.02 DEFINITION. For purpose of this section a
sterilized dog means a spayed female dog and a neutered male
dog.
SEC. 13.03 PROOF REQUIRED. Any person seeking to have
his dog licensed at the sterilized dog rate must present a
certificate from a veterinarian licensed to practice within the
State of Hawaii showing the descx-iption, age and 'breed of the
dog and certifying its sterilizat:ion."
