AN ORDINANCE Ab1ENDING CHAPTER 6 (TRAFFIC CODE) ARTICLE 15
SECTION 2.A., HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1975, AS AMENDED, RELATING
TO STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 2.A., Article 15, Chapter 6 of
the Hawaii County Code, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"A. Whenever any po:Lice officer finds a motor
vehicle [standing upon a highway in violation
of Section 17-1(a),] in violation of Section 1.A.
of this article, such officer is hereby authorized
to move such vehicle, or require the driver or
other person in charge of the vehicle to move
the same, to a position where the vehicle would
not obstruct traffic or off the primary lanes of
vehicular travel. Upon the inability of the
officer to move the vehicle and after the driver
or owner refuse:; or is unable to comply with
the request to move the vehicle, or where the
driver cannot be located thereabouts, the officer
may cause the vehicle to be towed away at the
registered owner or driver's expense."
SECTION 2. Superseded material is enclosed in brackets and
new material is underscored. When incorporating this ordinance
into the Hawaii County Code, the incorporator need not include
the brackets or the bracketed material.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.

This Bill amends Chapter 6 ('Praffic Code), Article 15,
Section 2.A, Hawaii County Code, .1975, as amended, relating to
stopping, standing and parking.
