Re: East Hawaii Solid Waste Stream
As the Chairman of the Public Works Committee, I would like to request that the Solid
Waste Division provide the Committee with a status report regarding the closure of Hilo
Landfill. It is our understanding that the administration has initiated a request for
proposal to perspective vendors in regards to handling East Hawaii Solid Waste Stream.
We would like to hear the details and directions the administration is headed on this very
important issue. Please be prepared to conduct a presentation on our November 14, 2000
Public Works committee meeting.
