ORDINANCE NO. `~4~
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6, (TRAFFIC CODE) ARTICLE 6,
HAV~AII COUNTY CODE, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO RESTRICTIONS
TO ',RIGHT OR LEFT TURNS ONLY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 6, Article 6, Hawaii County Code,
as amended, is hereby further amended by adding thereto a
new section to read:
'"SEC. 3. RESTRICTIONS TO RIGHT OR LEFT TURNS ONLY
A. When official traffic signs are posted giving
notice thereof, the driver of any vehicle
shall be restricted to making only right (left)
turns and shall not make a left (right) turn
or proceed straight ahead. For the provisions
of this paragraph, the Chief of Police may
place or erect signs of a temporary nature
during peak hours at any intersection or
driveway he may deem to be congested.
B. The following are hereby established and
designated as areas restricted to right
turns only:
RIGHT TURN ONLY
KONA
1. Exit movement from the driveway just mauka
of Sizzler Steak House in the Kona Coast
Shopping Center onto Palani Road.
2. Exit movement from the driveway just
makai of the First Hawaiian Bank onto
Palani Road.
C. (Reserve for left turns only)."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6, (TRAFFIC CODE) ARTICLE 6,
HAWAII COUNTY CODE, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO RESTRICTIONS TO
RIGHT OR LEFT TURNS ONLY.
This Bill amends Chapter 6 (Traffic Code), Article 6,
Hawaii County Code, as amended, relating to restrictions to right
or left turns only and establishes and designates certain areas
in Kona as being restricted to right turns only.
Date Introduced: April 1, 1978
