AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 5, HAWAII COUNTY
CODE, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 2, Article 5, Hawaii County Code,
as amended, is further amended by the addition of the
following:
"SECTION 1.05. WATER AND WATER HAULING CHARGES.
In the event within a certain district of the County
of Hawaii and upon a declaration of an emergency by the
Mayor, residents who request that water be hauled to their
residence shall pay the County of Hawaii an amount equivalent
to fifty percent of the total standard commercial hauling
charges. One year after the adoption of this ordinance,
each resident shall pay the County of Hawaii an amount
equivalent to seventy-five percent of the total standard
commercial hauling charges. Two years after the adoption
of this ordinance, each resident shall pay the County of
Hawaii an amount equivalent to the total standard commercial
hauling charges. The County of Hawaii shall make water
available for hauling at no charge to each of such requesting
residents."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
