AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 17, CHAPTER 6, HAWAII COUNTY CODE,
AS AMENDED, RELATING TO PARKING-METER ZONES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Schedule 16 of Section 1, Article 17, Chapter 6
of the Hawaii County Code, as amended, is amended to read as
follows:
SCHEDULE 16 - PARKING-METER ZONES
ARTICLE 17,, Sec. 1
THIRTY-SIX MINUTES PARKING-METER ZONES
1. Kekaulike Street, from Waianuenue Avenue to
Wailuku Drive.
2. The makai side of Kinoole Street, from Waianuenue
Avenue to Wailuku Drive.
[4. Kalakaua Street, from Kinoole Street to Keawe
Street.]
ONE HOUR PARKING-METER ZONES
1. Furneaux Lane, from Keawe Street to Kamehameha
Avenue.
2. Haili Street, from Kinoole Street to Kamehameha
Avenue.
3. Kalakaua Street, from [Keawe] Kinoole Street to
Kamehameha Avenue.
4. Kamehameha Avenue, from Shipman Street to [Ponahawai
street] Waianuenue Avenue.
5. Keawe Street, from Wailuku Drive to Kilauea Avenue.
6. On both sides of Ke:kuanaoa Street, between Honu Lane
and Kilauea Avenue.
7. Kilauea Avenue, from Haili Street to Kukuau Street.

TWO-HOUR PARKING-METER ZUNES

Keawe Street intersection in the city of Hilo
where parking meters are presently installed.

area adjacent to Kamehameha Avenue in the City
of Hilo where parking meters are presently
installed, except (1.) the 23 parking stalls in
the second row, the 21 parking stalls in the
third row, and the 21 parking stalls in the
fourth row of parking stalls along Kamehameha
Avenue from Mooheau Park to Haili Street, (2) the
17 parking stalls in the third row and the 16
parking stalls in the fourth row in the area on
the Hamakua side of Haili Street, and (3) the
7 parking stalls near the bus terminal, for a
total of 105 parking stalls.]
[3]2. The Puna side of Haili Street between Kinoole
Street and Ululani Street.
EIGHT-HOUR PARKING-METER ZONES
1. The following areas are designated as maximum
or eight (8) hours parking at the rate of five
cents ($.OS) for two (2) hours.

a. The following [105] 99 stalls in the Bay Front
Parking area adjacent to Kamehameha Avenue in
the City of Hi:1o:
(1) [The 23 parking stalls in the second row,]
The 21 parking stalls in [third] first row,
[and] 21 parking stalls in the [fourth]
second row, [of] and 17 parking stalls in
the third row of parking stalls along
Kamehameha Avenue from Mooheau Park to
Haili street;
(2) The 17 parking stalls in the [third] first
row and the 16 parking stalls in the [fourth]
second row in the area on the Hamakua side of
Haili Street; and
(3) The 7 parking stalls near the bus terminal.
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material
is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed
material and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 3. In the event that any portion of this ordinance is
declared invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other parts
of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.

This Bill amends Article 17, Chapter 6 (Traffic Code),
Schedule 16, Article 17, Section 7, creating Parking-Meter Zones
in Downtown Hilo.
