ORDINANCE NO. ~~j-
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.01, ARTICLE 12, CHAPTER 3,
OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO OUTDOOR
LIGHTING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 2.01, Article 12, Chapter 3, of the
Hawaii County Code is amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 2.01 SHIELDING. All outdoor [lighting]
lights, exce t those utilizing low pressure
sodium light sources, installed on or after
ninety [(90)] days from [the enactment of
this ordinance] June 18, 1974, shall be
shielded from above in such a manner that
the edge of the shield shall be level with
or below the center of the light source."
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New
material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the
brackets, bracketed material and underscoring need not be
included.
SECTION 3. In the event any portion of this ordinance
is declared invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other
parts of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
