A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 7.04, ARTICLE 10, CHAPTER 2, HAWAII
COUNTY CODE, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO FEES FOR MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 7.04, Article 10, Chapter 2, Hawaii County Code,
as amended, is further amended to read:
"SEC. 7.04. FEES FOR [MOTOR] VEHICLE REGISTRATION.
A. The fee for issuance of a new series of number plates for a
vehicle shall be Three Dollars and fifty Cents ($3.50).
B. The fee for issuance of a tag or emblem for a vehicle, upon
payment of the applicable tax, in any year [in which the number plates
do not evidence the payment of the current year's tax,] shall be Fifty
Cents ($.50).
C. The fee fora replacement of a lost or mutilated number plate
or plates, tag or emblem of a vehicle shall be as follows:
1. Number plates $3.50
2. Tag or emblem [ .25] $ .50
D. (The fee for original registration of a vehicle in any year in
which the number plates do not evidence the payment of current year's
tax shall be Three Dollars and Seventy Five Cents ($3.75).] The transfer
of ownership fee charged to issue a new certificate of ownership shall be
Two Dollars ($2.00).
E. The fee for dealer correction for each instance of correction of
the registration records shall be Two Dollars ($2.00).
F The fee for duplicate certificate of registration or certificate
of ownership shall be Two Dollars ($2.00)."
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed, new material is under-
scored. In printing this ordinance, the bracketed material and the underscoring
may be excluded.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect on January 1, 1982.
