ORDINANCE N0 . ` J
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 6, CHAPTER 6 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE, AS
AMENDED, TO ADD A NEW SECTION RELATING TO CUTTING CORNERS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Article 6, Chapter 6 of the Hawaii County Code is amended
to add a new section, to read as follows:
"SEC. 4. CUTTING CORNERS.
"No person shall operate or drive any vehicle on or across any sidewalk
area or through any driveway, parking lot o-r any business entrance for the
purpose of making right or left turns from one street into another by_
avoiding intersections or as a means of travelling from one street to
another; provided, however, that this section shall not prohibit the use
of such driveway, parking lot or business entrance for such purposes when
such use is incidental to business to be transacted on the premises."
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored.
In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material, and underscoring
need not be included.
SECTION 3. If any provision of the ordinance or the application thereof
to any person or circumstances is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect
other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without
the invalid provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this
ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
