AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7.29 {THE CITY OF HILO ZONE MAP),
ARTICLE 2, CRAFTER 8 (ZONING CODE) OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE,
AS AMENDED, RELATIVE TO THE PROPOSED KOMOHANA STREET
RIGHT-OF°~WAY WIDTH (HAIHAI STREET TO AINAOLA DRIVE) AT WAIAKEA,
SOUTH HILO, HAWAII.
BE TT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 7.29, Article 2, Chapter 8 (Zoning
Code) of the Hawaii County Code, as amended, is further amended
to add a new subsection to read as follows:
"7.29 (ddddd). The existing Komohana Street, 60-f t.
wide right-of-way (Haihai Street to Ainaola Drive} shall
be widened by an additional 20 ft. only on the west
(mauaa) side to provide for a future 80-f t. wide secondary
arterial. In addition, the existing proposed 20-f t.
widening on the east (makai) side of the existing Komohana
Street right-of-way (Haihai Street to Ainaola Drive) shall
be deleted. However, in order to provide an adequate
transition from the existing Komohana Street alignment to
the proposed alignment between Haihai Street and Ainaola
Drive, the areas immediately adjacent to the Komohana
Street/Haihai Street and Komohana Street/Ainaola Drive
intersections may also need to be widened on the east
(makai) side. In these areas the roadway alignment shall
be determined, more precisely, at the time construction
drawings for the project are being finalized.
All as shown on the map attached hereto, marked
Exhibit "A" and by reference made a part hereof."
SECTION 2. In the event that any portion of this
ordinance is declared invalid, such invalidity shall not affect
the other parts of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
