ORDINANCE NQ. 863
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE,
AS AMENDED, RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 1-A, Article 10, Chapter 6, of the
Hawaii County Code is amended by amending item 9 of
Schedule 6 to read as follows:
"9. KAPIOLANI STREET. All vehicular traffic shall
move only from the Hamakua to the Puna direction,
between Ponahawai Street and Waianuenue Avenue,
between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and [12:00 noon]
1:00 p.m. on Sundays."
SECTION 2. Section 8-B, Article 15, Chapter 6, of the
Hawaii County Code is amended by adding a new item to the
South Hilo classification of Schedule 12 to read as follows:
"133. Shipman Street, beginning at a point two hundred
and ten feet east of Keawe Street and extending
forty feet in the easterly direction towards
Kamehameha Avenue."
SECTION 3. Section 1-B, Article 16, Chapter 6, of the
Hawaii County Code is amended by repealing a portion of the
Hualalai Street division of Schedule 13 as follows:
"[On the Hamakua side of Shipman Street at the entrance
to the Hilo Armory.]"

SECTION 4. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New
material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the
brackets, bracketed material, and underscoring need not be
included.
SECTION 5. In the event that any portion of the
ordinance is declared invalid, such invalidity shall not
affect the other parts of this ordinance.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
