COUNTY OF HAWAII - STATE OF HAWAII
ORDINANCE NO. S4 3~
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 20, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 20-8 OF THE
HAWAII COUNTY CODE OF 1983 RELATING TO PENALTIES FOR LITTERING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 20-8, Article 1, Chapter 20 of the Hawaii
County Code of 1983 as amended is hereby further amended to read as
follows:
"Section 20-8. PENALTY. Any person who violates the provisions
of this article shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine
not less than $100 nor more than [$250] $500 and/or to imprisonment
or to public service with the division of sewers and sanitation,
department of public works or the division of parks maintenance,
department of parks and recreation, for a period not exceeding five
days."
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material
is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed
material, and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 3. In the event that any portion of the ordinance is
declared invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other parts
of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
